Women helping women.

We help women who are dealing with life’s challenges assess and address
their current emotional health and provide steps to support them
on a path towards healing and thriving.

The dream to make mental health support accessible for all women began a long time ago.

Dawn and her team’s research has revealed times of mental health vulnerabilities throughout various seasons in a woman’s life beyond pregnancy and postpartum. This led the HOPE team to launch a digital platform to address these vulnerabilities to make support accessible for all women.

Dawn is passionate about improving women’s mental health. She is known across Canada as the leading expert in the mental health of pregnant and postpartum women through her research at the University of Calgary.

Looking toward the future, Dawn’s book, ‘Your Brain on Pregnancy’, will be released in early 2024 by Simon and Schuster.

I believe that every woman should have access to high-quality mental healthcare no matter what stage in life.

Our Mission Over the Years

Over the years our vision has grown from addressing the mental health needs of pregnant and postpartum women to include all women across the life course. Grow with us as we add resources tailored to the mental health needs experienced by women (you!) facing challenges in various stages and situations in life.

Our Key Findings Over the Years

Our research has shed light on vital connections between mental health, various life challenges and access to support. Here are a few key takeaways.

  • E-mental healthcare reduces physician and women’s barriers to mental healthcare; women have a preference for self-management strategies (vs medication)

  • We’ve conducted 15 studies and 4 trials.

  • The majority of women continue to have mental health struggles after pregnancy and postpartum

  • 3150 women empowered with self-guided mental health resources to date.

  • Long-term impacts on the children are not only for women with severe symptoms of anxiety and depression, but for women with enduring, subclinical symptoms as well.

  • These findings shape how we think about how to meet the mental health needs of pregnant women.
